HOW TO EAT - Nutrition Program

READY TO MAKE A BIG CHANGE?

The next HOW TO EAT nutrition program begins Sunday, January 7

The How To Eat nutrition program offers you a guided and supportive course of action to improve your diet and your overall well-being. The goal of this course is to eliminate foods that commonly cause digestive ailments, disease, and detrimental eating habits and give your body (and tastebuds) a fresh start. There will be 3 levels of commitment to the program.

LEVEL 1 - TESTING THE WATERS

If you are wanting to take smaller steps toward a healthier diet, this is the level for you. We will be focusing on eating whole, fresh, unprocessed foods and making some small changes to the processed foods and sugars in your diet.

LEVEL 2 - THE DEEP END

If you are just looking to clean up your already healthy diet or maybe you want to plunge right into a 4 week detox, this level should suit you. We must warn you that this is not for the faint of heart! For the 4 week program you will be eating whole, fresh, unprocessed foods and eliminating your not so healthy eating habits and sugar dependencies. The guides and support available will keep you on track and give you the extra push you need to reach your dietary goals.

LEVEL 3 - OPEN WATERS - FINDING SENSITIVITIES

This level is going to be tough and on some days grueling but it is also going to make the biggest changes and give you insight into how your body reacts to certain foods. For the first 2 weeks, your diet will become very restricted but with our help, you will be guided through the addition of specific foods back into your diet. We will help you to recognize symptoms of sensitivities and physical and mental reactions to foods that you may have been overlooking for years. You can do this! And we can help.

There are considerations and modifications available for athletes, nursing and pregnant women and vegetarians.

This program version provides you with a PDF guide and motivational emails to help you through the process. You will have access to online resources such as a How To Eat Facebook Group page for camaraderie, and a Pinterest page with lots of recipes and snack ideas.

The Self Guided Program is $30*

*Discount available for Paragon Monthly members and FCC members. Email Betsy at paragon.athletics@yahoo.com for coupon code.

Reconciling Biomechanics with Pain Science - By Greg Lehman

This 2-day course is geared toward the health care provider and fitness professional.  With emerging research there is often the feeling that a traditional approach needs to be wholly discarded.  Instead, this course helps the therapist to integrate the pain science and biopsychosocial model of pain with traditional biomechanical techniques.  The course simplifies many of those techniques and distills the most relevant and important aspects of those techniques for pain resolution and injury management. An emphasis is placed on exercise prescription, symptom modification and graded exposure for injury management and simple techniques to start addressing the psychosocial aspects that influence both pain and performance.

At its simplest, this is a BIOMECHANICS and PAIN SCIENCE course.  Ideally, we've distilled the best of both to get the best approach to pain and injury management.

Reconciling Biomechanics with Pain Science is a two-day course that mixes a lecture, case study and hands-on learning format. This course has been taught throughout the world with the aim of simplifying the biomechanical approach to injury and pain management.  A simplified, yet strongly evidenced based biomechanical approach, allows the therapist to develop skills that address all areas of the biopsychosocial contributors to the pain experience.

This course teaches When Biomechanics Matters and fits this approach into Therapeutic Neuroscience Education framework.

Traditional rehabilitation practice is steeped in the biomedical model of treating pain and injuries.  While the biopyschosocial model of care is touted as being the superior approach it is often difficult to incorporate traditional biomechanical training within this model.  There is the fear that therapists become psychotherapists.  The aim of this course is to help reconcile and reconceptualize the biomechanical approach.  You will learn that you need not throw the baby out with the bath water when you embrace the biopsychosocial (BPS) approach.  Remember, the BPS model starts with "Bio": you will learn how biomechanics matters and how pain science education and cognition changing can fit together.

This course is great for anyone working with people in pain or injuries.  Physiotherapists, Chiros, Massage Therapists , Osteopaths, Sport Therapists, Movement Pros/Teachers and Strength Coaches are welcome.

**Pricing - group discounts always available or any extenuating circumstances - please send me an email.
